This is in Vermont, although I'm not entirely sure where. It was so confusing getting to my dad's friend's house that I totally forgot the name of his town :P
This is the mountain that's behind the friend's house (like right behind). We hiked up it, and I had a lot of fun, although my little sister cried the entire time.

The thing that amazed me about America was just how much more...space, there is. We were going through millions of little towns, and between them there is just so much land. There are also a lot of abandoned buildings, something that I really haven't seen much of in Canada. Things really do seem a lot different there, and I find that interesting. Maybe its just Vermont that's different? But one would think that since you can drive there straight out of Ontario, it wouldn't change much. But it does.
Need to get a passport before I can go back there again, but I think looking at more US "small towns" would be fun.

Last night I finished Exodus.
I did enjoy that chapter. It was more narrative than Genesis, and a lot less repetetive. Although, near the end of the chapter it got into tedious descriptions on how to make certain Holy Furniture. But then when they were over, it was like "Then they made the Holy Furniture *repeats exact same description of everything". Kind of a bothersome way to end the chapter. I have not started Leviticus yet, but that is a pretty cool name.

I think that I have decided the Bible is not The Word Of God. As in, it was written by humans, even if it was dictated to them by God. I am trying to decide the nature of the Christian God based on how the text portrays but it is kind of hard. He seems almost bipolar. Or at the very least, human. I think the Christian God is often taken at one extreme or the other when really he is more complicated than that.
Another thing that I learned from Exodus is that there are other Gods.
The Christian God did not say "I am the only God" he said, "I am the only God you should worship. I am the best of the Gods" (paraphrased obviously). He indeed acknowledges the existance of other Gods. Similar things occur in the Quran when whoever is narrating keeps referring to themselves as "we" (the Royal We maybe?). There's other weirdness in the Quran but this journal is long enough already.

I am going to keep reading, slow as it may be, and try to figure this Bible thing out.

My favourite super hero is Nightcrawler from X-Men!

Whyyyy? Well, because the first time I ever saw him...I guess it was the episode he was introduced into the cartoon. He was hiding out in the top of a church because the people in town thought he was a monster and were trying to kill him. I don't know why, but for some reason that drew me to him. As a kid I had this strange attraction to the people others thought were monsters (at least character-wise. Not actual people).
That kind of carried through as I learned more about Nightcrawler and the kind of person he is. I mean, he has a cool superpower, but it isn't the thing I like most about him.
Also, his accent is very nice.
