Sick

Doesn't like every single person in the whole world write about themselves being sick?
Anyway, I am. It's a very rare occurance for me to be sick, as a childhood of eating bugs gave me an immune-system of steel.

Since school started I've hardly had any time to read books, which is like....sad. So I'm starting to read again.

Today I am cooking. Which I enjoy even more than reading. (how strange)

Menu:
Pumpkin Cheesecake
Gamelli with garlic, herbs and mozzarella.

The cheesecake will have organic home-grown pumpkins, and the pasta recipe is stolen from a magazine in art class in like...grade 9 probably, lmao. Because I collect them.

In any case, maybe I will update with how they turn out.

I thought maybe I should write a journal every day so I don't forget things so easily. I have to try to actually stick with it!

Here is an update on my lovely cooking:

Fusilli with Garlic, Herbs, and Mozzarella
What went wrong: Dad bought fusilli noodles rather than gamelli (not really that big of a difference), dad bought barely a cup of basil when they recipe called for two cups.
Overview: This was actually very easy to make. At the very most it took an hour, and preparation and cleanup did not take too long. I found it a little less flavourful than I had imagined, but I can expect the lack of basil contributed to that. I think it also might need a little more garlic. Other than that, it turned out wonderful - smelled great, tasted good, and looked beautiful.

Pumpkin Cheesecake [link]
What went wrong: Recipe yeilded a very small amount of filling compared to the batter for the cake crust.
Overview: Although the filling and the batter both tasted delicious while I was making them, the cake when finished was a little bland. I think if I decide to make it a second time, I will cut the batter recipe in half and double the filling recipe. It turned out less like a traditional cheesecake, and more like a "cake with cheese". There are parts where the cheese filling is more concentrated and you get that good cheesecake taste, but otherwise it's a disappointment. I might also include more pumpkin to it should I make it a second time.

Also if anyone can tell me how to do an LJ cut it would be nice :P
