+1 Lameness
Feb. 13th, 2010 12:55 amI think I might attempt to be even lamer and rewatch Digimon in Japanese. Or...maybe in English. But, what is this blasphemy?
At first I might have thought it was sad that the best thing in my life is anime or japanese dramas, but now I've just blissfully accepted it. I'm out of school for a week's vacation, but that doesn't really matter since I only went to school one day this week anyway. However, I have watched plenty of Anime. Aren't you proud of me?
I've been watching Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I'm amazed at how different the two are. They're not different in bad ways, they both work quite fine when viewed as separate series than eachother. All said, I really like the animation in Brotherhood more. Its just so pleasing and...flowy. The opening credits are also really good.
The voice actors are great for both of them, there is of course no objection there. I was really pleased that in Brotherhood, Ed and Al's voice actors (or rather actresses) made them sound older. It fits because Brotherhood is a bit more serious of a series. Although, it still fits in with lovely FMA humour.
Anyway, I'm also reading the manga online. This is horrible, since I have to wait a month between chapters. Something really dramatic just happened, and I'm going to be worrying FOREVER until the next chapter comes out.
I'm hoping to buy the last few volumes at Anime North if they are out by then. As much as I hate to see the series end, I'm dying for a conclusion. And really, I don't want it to end up like Dragonball Z
(ok, I'm really in love with DBZ, but they stretched it out so long and the ending was SO UNSATISFYING. Also, Goku was pretty much the biggest jerk ever to ChiChi *laughs* He's such a nice guy, but a total blockhead. Anyway, enough of memory lane.)
I can't wait for Anime North. I'm hoping my costume will turn out well this year. I'm going as Zell from Final Fantasy 8. The jacket is proving more difficult than I had originally planned, and it seems I'm going to have to take some parts of it in (which I really wanted to avoid). But I won't settle for second best this time. I want a costume I can actually be proud of, you know?
I'm also really looking forward to styling my hair like his.

I've been reading up on alchemy and Hermeticism. And, it wasn't just because of FMA. Honest. But its nice to see that Arakawa really did the research for it. The difference between Eastern and Western alchemy, for example.
I'm dying to go back to the library and hole myself up in their reference department. But can you believe they close at 5 on saturday? And on friday too! What is up with that? Honestly, if I can't be a nerd after 5 o'clock at night, then life is just not worth living.
Er, maybe I'll go now ._.
